Parkland College has a beautiful campus, and is a really fascinating place to visit if you know your way around. But when you don’t know where a room is located, it can be both frustrating and exhausting. Parkland Maps.com was created to help visitors to the campus find their way more easily. From the homepage, you simply type in the name of the classroom (like M223), then click on the appropriate result. The page that loads provides instruction on the best parking lot to choose, along with links to the maps you would find at Parkland College’s website. There are currently two maps that you can print: an aerial view of the campus that shows the parking lots and some of the building identifiers, and a detailed floor map at your destination. The goal for this site is to help you find your way as quickly as possible, utilizing a simple and intuitive format. The design was inspired by Google.com and Craigslist.org for their simplicity. I would hope that by providing this information, it would take the worry out of locating your classroom and would give you the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful campus at Parkland College. Future plans include:
The goal is to eventually have a complete map for each room that takes you from start to finish, from the parking lot to your classroom. Development is limited only to time and interest. So if you like what you see, please tell your friends. The best feedback I get is when I go to the logs at the end of the day and see how many visitors I have had. |
